The add/drop period during the first two weeks of the semester is likely when you’ll get added (people changing their schedules around or sometimes professors will just add people). You should get an email notifying you if you’ve been added off of the waitlist. You’ll have to manually drop the other class should you be added.Generally if you’re within 10% of the class size, you’re looking good, but I wouldn’t join one if I was in a position on the waitlist greater than 25% of the class size. Definitely wait for now, they might still resize. I wouldn't email any professor until after finals probably, everyone's schedules are still pretty fluid.
